Decentralized finance is financial services offered on a public blockchain over the internet. This paper reviews decentralized (DeFi) research and development around world. The findings of literature review are that offers many benefits such as broadening inclusion; encouraging permission-less innovation; eliminating need for intermediaries; ensuring immutability transactions; censorship resistance making cross-border transactions cheaper. associated risks include execution risk in smart contracts, legal liability risk, data theft interconnectedness external greater propensity illicit activity using DeFi applications. existing show there few studies DeFi, large number non-empirical studies. Most hold positive view about DeFi. They emphasize great depth but challenges were not analysed depth, no critical Observations developments from world growing interest Europe, US, Asia Oceania.
